Each adventure finds Mae Merriweather and her friends from the Grayson Academy of Antiquities hot on the trail of an elusive buried artifact. To find it, they must venture to distant islands, get lost in hedge mazes and survive cavernous dungeon labyrinths. Their adventures hold the clues to a massive riddle, leading to the location of the real-life buried treasure. Good note takers and super sleuths will put the pieces together to pinpoint the treasure's real location. Each semester of Brain Chase includes an all-new riddle with an all-new trophy and treasure location.

Every semester, students attempt to locate a real missing treasure. So far, Brain Chase adventures have unearthed the Globe of Magellan, the Sunstone of Cortez, and the Mask of Tomoe Gozen. The treasures have been found in locations like Norway, Japan, New Orleans, Spain, Boston, and Vanuatu.
